Jill Peacock is a Canadian soul artist based in Brooklyn. Her self titled debut EP was released on Toronto's DoRight Label and received support from Gilles Peterson (BBC), and Gill Deacon (CBC). Her first full length album ‘Moon Garden’ (independently released, 2021) is an expansion of Jill's sound through collaborations with four different producers including Jack Deboe (Yebba) and Dane Orr (Sonnymoon). Her solo album, 'Inner Wilderness' (2022) is a stripped down offering with vocals and grand piano, recorded in only one session. It also features her first cover (Carole King's "So Far Away") which was featured on NPR's New Music Friday. You can listen to her perform this live for Paste Magazine on YouTube. Her latest release is ‘Northern Star’ (2005), an album which features lush, organic arrangements with strings, flutes and horns that pay homage to the 60s soul music that has always inspired her. Jill is also the cofounder of Los Cielitos, a bolero duo, where she sings classic boleros from all across Latin America and plays bass with her husband and guitarist Yasser Tejeda. They released their self titled debut album on Pinch Records in 2025 and play regularly throughout NYC and Brooklyn.
Jill is an educator and is the founder of Peacock Music Studios - a thriving private teaching studio in Brooklyn where she teaches students of all ages. Behind the scenes, she also works as a studio vocal coach. She was the vocal coach for Yasser Tejeda's most recent two albums, ‘Kijombo’ and La Madruga' as well as the recordings featured in the new Jennifer Lopez movie ‘Office Romance’ (2026). She has also produced percussionist/vocalist Kerry Lindner's latest EP alongside Mauro Reforsco (David Byrne).
